Hayward, Wisconsin (February 17, 2017) — The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation is pleased to announce that Governor Scott Walker has issued a proclamation declaring February 19-23, 2017 “American Birkebeiner Week” throughout the state of Wisconsin.

The American Birkebeiner International Bridge is an iconic component of the North America’s largest cross-country ski race held each February in Hayward, WI. Normally, the American Birkebeiner International Bridge is used by Birkie skiers to safely ski over U.S. Highway 63 to the snow-covered Main Street of Hayward, WI, and to the race’s finish line. The Birkie Bridge traveled to downtown Minneapolis, MN Nicollet Mall to be a highligh as a destination of fun and pre-game LIVE festivities for Super Bowl LII (52).
