Events for the “Lure” of Lights in Hayward continue this weekend, starting with a Scavenger Hunt from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Pick up forms from Time and Again on Main Street and turn them in by 4 p.m. to receive a prize.
The lights turn on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8-9, at dusk, and there will be s’mores pits Saturday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. downtown.
The Light Your Engines! Parade begins at 7 p.m. Saturday on Main Street, where all participating tractors and ATVs are lit up with Christmas lights. There are awards for Oldest Tractor, Most Christmas Spirit, Best Junior Entry, Best Lights and Best Overall. People can register their tractor or ATV up until 9 a.m. Dec. 9 at www.alureoflights.com.
